Scope and Contents of Dorris Dutel Holmes papers

From the Collection:

Manuscripts include newspaper clippings, correspondence, minutes, publications and handouts that document Holmes’ work with the League of Women Voters (1964-1989) and her activities with the women’s rights movement, with a particular focus on efforts to ratify the Equal Rights Amendment in Georgia (1970-1989). The ERA-centered materials contain Georgia legislative documents, notes, budgets, and congressional records. Non-manuscript material includes bumper stickers, buttons, identification badges, name tags and t-shirts all revolving around her work on toward passage of the Equal Rights Amendment.
