Scope and Contents of the Papers

The Beth Farokhi papers, 1937, 1976-2020, consist of correspondence, meeting minutes and records, training materials, articles, reports, convention materials, speeches, newsletters, awards, and audiovisual materials, documenting her work with the American Association for University Women (AAUW), the Integrating Gender Equity and Reform (InGEAR) program, and her professional work at Georgia State University (GSU). The first series AAUW, 1937, 1976-2006, consists of membership, leadership, campaigns, meeting minutes, personal notes, correspondences, newsletters, annual meeting participation, presentations, articles and columns written. The second series containing the InGEAR program materials, 1976-2002, which include developement and funding, surveys, budgets, grant proposals, meeting minutes, presentations, self-studies and evaluations. The third series focuses on Faroki's professional work at GSU and includes correspondence, presentations, articles, programs she created for women at GSU, teacher certification tests, resumes and research papers. Series IV consists of a series of binders documenting Farokhi's two political campaigns in 2006 and 2010. Series V is made up of interviewee folders and audio/video materials from the Women of Georgia Oral History Project that Farokhi created. Series VI contains various personal files including programs, a calendar, and information on several events. The final two series contain audiovisual materials as well as floppy discs and a photograph, and artifacts such as stickers and awards.
