Personal Papers and Published Works, 1966-2015

 Series
Identifier: I

Scope and Content of the Series

Series I, Personal Papers and Published Works, is composed of Jim Elledge’s awards, correspondence, and paperwork related to his books, anthologies, poems and articles, as well materials from book festivals, workshops, seminars and conferences he attended. Chronologically-arranged diaries illustrate the process, documenting his thoughts, feelings, activities and research notes surrounding his poetic and creative writing, 1970-2012. The majority of the documents in the series show the publishing process of a professional writing career, including "rejection or acceptance" slips from editors, the tear sheets publishers mail to accepted poets, which include the periodical cover, contents page and the accepted poem, and poems from the periodicals, books and anthologies. Elledge's published work is arranged alphabetically by title, and the headings found in the folder titles reflect the grouping titles he created in organizing the material.
