Scope and Contents of the Series
From the Series:
Series III (1951-1973) of the Service Employees International Union, Southern Region records consist primarily of files describing the Local 554 (Atlanta, Ga.) relationship with the Atlanta Army Depot and the Atlanta Housing Authority. Smaller amounts of correspondence pertain to the Oak Ridge (Tennessee) Hospital and the Tennessee Valley Authority. The principal correspondent for the union is Business Manager and Treasurer Edmund Dumas. Other notable correspondents are SEIU President David Sullivan and Secretary-Treasurer George Fairchild.
