Scope and Contents of the Records

From the Collection:

The American Association for University Women, Atlanta Branch records, 1939-2013, consist of branch and board agendas, meeting minutes, correspondence, and officer position descriptions. The collection includes a history of the Branch, its charters and bylaws, the president’s annual reports, budgets, membership information, Branch diversity materials, year books, and awards and scholarships won or given by the Branch. Also documented are the Atlanta Branch’s organization and participation in programs and events such as the annual book fair, Sister-to-Sister Summit, voter education, Educational Information and Referral Service, Inc. (EIRS), Women-to-Women Summit, Community Action Fund, Educational Foundation (EF), Legal Advocacy Fund (LAF), Initiative for Educational Equality Project, and Tech Savvy Girls, as well as issues such as equality in education, reproductive rights, and public policy. The collection also includes printed material, photographs, newspaper clippings, video tapes, and scrapbooks.
