Scope and Contents of the Papers
Plays, short stories, manuals, news clippings and audio visual material make up the Charlee Lambert papers. Series I, Plays and Stories, documents Lambert’s work as a playwright, and they include her notes on the development of her work, as well as more general materials related to publicity, 1969-2002. Included are reminiscences documented through autobiographical short stories. Series II, Professional association and advocacy, documents her involvement with organizations, such as AARP’s Reminiscence program and Georgia’s Council on Elderly Abuse and Neglect, and includes materials such as manuals and training guides for work within these programs, 1974-2004. Includes six issues of Elder Abuse Forum, the Newsletter of the Council on Elder Abuse and Neglect. Series III, Audio Visual, 1985-2004, documents how Lambert created many community-driven plays through role-playing, including Regardless of Wheels, a collaboration with the Shepherd Spinal Center and a made-for-video adaptation of The Juggler, a collaboration with the Georgia Kidney Failure Coalition. Series IV, Newspapers, includes Lambert's collection of newspapers from local publications including Tallahassee Democrat (Tallahassee, Florida), Easton Star-Democrat (Easton, Maryland), and the Groveland Graphic (Groveland, Florida).
The collection had some organizational order upon receipt, and that original order was respected as the Special Collections staff brought together materials of similar subject matter. Within each series, folders are arranged alphabetically by subject. The oversize items in this collection are housed separately.
