Scope and Content of the Series
Series III consists of subjects, organizations, and persons arranged in one alphabetical sequence. This Series includes correspondence with North Carolina Governor Melville Broughton; North Carolina Senator Robert R. Reynolds; North Carolina Congressman George A. Shuford; Wilbur Hobby; George Pennell; and Monroe M. Redden. The organization and subject files include the Asheville (North Carolina) League of Women Voters; the Glendale Manufacturing Company; the North Carolina Commission of Labor; the Republican National Committee; and the Democratic Party primary in North Carolina in 1952. The largest part of Series III is a number of miscellaneous correspondence folders arranged chronologically for the period 1937-1958. This series also contains several unattributed speech and radio broadcast typescripts.
