Scope and Content of the Series
Series II consists of files related to AFL organizing campaigns such as the Atomic Trades & Labor Council (Oak Ridge, Tennessee); Chicago Herald Tribune dispute with the CIO sponsored union; Citrus Workers Union No 24217 (Lakeland, Florida); Enka (North Carolina) Rayon Workers Union; a Georgia organizing drive; Tri-Cities (Alabama) Organizing Drive; and Upholsterers' Union (Morganton and Marion, North Carolina). Series II also includes files pertaining to work that Barrett did for Jewelry Workers Local 32 (Asheville, North Carolina); Typographical Union No. 263 (Asheville, North Carolina); and the United States Treasury Department during World War II.
