Arvey Corp, 1953
Scope and Content of the Series
The files in Series III pertain to a company's relationship with the printing trade unions, and generally contain correspondence between company officers and/or attorneys, and McLellan's law firm. The companies cover a wide range of printing, advertising, and newspaper businesses throughout the United States. Within Series III, there are occassionally files of materials related to individuals, and these follow the same alphabetical arrangement as those for the company names. At the end of this series are several files containing manuscript material, including folders related to financial records, minutes, and the New York State Crime Commission.
Tracing the McLellan firm's activities and the legal affairs of the printing trade unions represented by, and/or involved with them, is accomplished by computer cross-referenceing of dates, plus union, company, and individual names. The available geographical and relational scope of this collection involves printing trade union activity covering the United State and some cities in Canada.
