IPPAU Numbered Cases and United States Supreme Court Case Summaries, 1944-1977

Series I contains 50 linear feet of case materials. These case files, numbered sequentially rather than chronologically, generally involve the IPPAU and related unions versus employers, employer associations, and individuals. Most of these files contain information related to specific cases with "vs." or "and" separating the parties' names on folder labels and inventory entries. Although the cases in this collection are in numerical order, there are gaps in the numbering and these gaps reflect files not in the Southern Labor Archives. Each file is dated using the first available date within the file, with Supreme Court case summaries inventoried at the end of the series using term, title, date and item designations. Files contain material such as correspondence, transcripts of hearings, contract copies and court decisions.
