Scope and Contents note

From the Sub-Series:

This subseries is composed of the typed transcriptions from approximately three-fourths of the videotaped interviews, and its organization parallels that of the videotapes. Among numerous others, interviewees included Eula McGill, a worker at the Selma Manufacturing Company in Alabama, Laura Beard, blacklisted by the Dwight Manufacturing Company, Joe Jacobs of Atlanta, and the Rainwater sisters. Topics discussed include organizers and workers, union activists at ACTWU [Amalgamated Clothing and Textile Workers Union] summer school, the Piedmont Peace Project and the Eagle Mill (North Carolina) and Highlander (Tennessee) reunions. Because the filmmakers interviewed so many individuals directly involved in the strike and surrounding events, the researcher can "view" activities from several vantage points.
