Scope and Content of Series XVII: Subject Files

From the Series: The Subject Files (1964-1985) include labor and FAA publications as well as suggested outside reading lists for PATCO members and leadership. Two large groups in this series feature materials relating to PATCO facility representative school (1977-1980) and correspondence and materials from non-PATCO labor organizations such as foreign air traffic controller organizations, the National Marine Engineer Beneficial Association, and domestic air travel organizations.

In addition, this series contains PATCO-produced informational materials on such topics as internal PATCO disputes, contract negotiations (1971-1974), and election tallies (1977-1978). This series contains Workmen's Compensation, retirement, and Second Career materials as well as a number of Freedom of Information Act requests dealing with staffing levels (1979-1980). A large portion of this series includes materials about air safety issues, specifically radar and technical materials and the aviation safety reporting system.
