Biographical note
John D. Blair (b. 1897 in North Carolina) earned his bachelor of science at Clemson College. In 1926, he was hired as coach and athletic director at Mercer University, later serving as registrar there. He was registrar at the Savannah Division of the University of Georgia, 1946-47. In 1947, he went to the Atlanta Division as its registrar, later also becoming Georgia State's director of admissions and serving as administrative dean (from 1955).
