Historical Note

The Glass Bottle Blowers' Association of the United States and Canada (GBBA) organized in 1868 as the Independent Druggist Ware Glass Blowers' League. In 1895, the union adopted the GBBA name and affiliated with the AFL in 1899. Later, GBBA merged with the International Brotherhood of Pottery and Allied Workers into the Glass, Pottery, Plastics & Allied Workers International Union (1982), which subsequently became the Glass, Molders, Pottery, Plastics & Allied Workers International Union (1988).
