Biographical Note

Mike Hall (born 1958) grew up in rural Alabama and earned his undergraduate degree and a Master of Fine Arts in Poetry at the University of Alabama. He moved to Atlanta to teach English at a private school and was involved in the Georgia environmental movement. From 1989 until his 2018 retirement, he taught at Dekalb Community College and its successor Georgia Perimeter College, chairing the college's English Department and directing its Diversity Alliance. A gay man impacted by the AIDS crisis, Hall became involved with the activist group ACT UP in the early 1990s, participating in its actions locally and in the Southeast.

Mike Hall (born 1958) taught at Dekalb Community College and its successor Georgia Perimeter College. A gay man impacted by the AIDS crisis, Hall became involved with the activist group ACT UP in the early 1990s, participating in its actions locally and in the Southeast. His papers, 1991-circa 2010, comprise a banner, photographs, and T-shirts related to gay activism.
