Subseries C contains files relating to Linda Bell's professional development at Georgia State University. Annual reports and evaluations of Bell's performance as a member of the Philosophy Department and as Philosophy professor are included in this subseries. Promotion and tenure (P&T) documents constitute the bulk of subseries C. P&T documents are arranged both in a more formal notebook format, and as loose files gathered over time to support P&T. In the 1970s, Bell's evaluation for promotion to Associate Professor in the Philosophy Department resulted in a negative decision by the department's committee members. Her investigation and appeal of the Philosophy Department's decision makes up a substantial part of subseries C. This subseries holds similar materials in support of P&T from the 1980s and 1990s. Subseries C also contains correspondence relating to P&T, an application for Director of the Women's Studies Center and media quotes solicited from Bell.
