Scope and Content of the Papers
The Wayne Walden Papers, 1916-1952, are comprised of personal and business correspondence, literary productions, research notes and printed material. The bulk of the correspondence is with members of his family and concerns private family matters. The business correspondence discusses Industrial Workers of the World (IWW) organizing, a book on the IWW and American policy in the Far East during the Korean War. Included is a letter to Walden from William D. Haywood, General Secretary-Treasurer of the Industrial Workers of the World. The Literary productions are mostly essays dealing with education, government, and labor.
