Abstract: The Georgia Democratic Party Forum, a splinter group of the state Democratic Party, originated in 1966 and supported former Governor Ellis Arnall in his unsuccessful write-in bid for governor. The Forum gained national attention in 1968 when it sent a slate of delegates to the National Democratic Convention in Chicago, and ultimately succeeded in getting half of the group seated to cast half of Georgia's votes. Abstract Gretta Moll Dewald (1929-2006) was involved with the Democratic Party of DeKalb County and of Georgia in the late 1960s. She worked on Governor Jimmy Carter's campaign for president in 1976 and served as Chair of the Women's Division of the Democratic National Committee and on the President's Advisory Committee on Women during his administration.
